Video is in my opinion the fastest and easiest way for you to get ranking on a specific keyword.  Although google’s algorithm is changing it does appear that they are taking a very special liking to video.  As your video gains momentum and people are viewing it, they will also be exposed to any websites or blogsites you attach to it.  You can funnel people to your sites by way of video and increase blog traffic.

I know what you are thinking but let’s save the argument about the accuracy of Alexa for another blog.  For today let’s just say that 3 social sites are competing in the top ten most trafficked sites in America.  Who would have guessed that a few years ago.  Wow!

I think we all can agree that the holy grail for everyone trying to be successful online is driving traffic to a pre determined blog site, business platform, or lead capture page.  What I am getting at here is you need to pay attention to the big three social media platforms.  Facebook, YouTube, and Twitter.

Work on what I call Social Proofing yourself.  Part of your daily routine should involve spending time building relationships on these 3 sites.  You need to participate in the online social scene.  Offer valuable information to your friends on facebook.  Post a video on youtube that others will find interesting.  Tweet a link to something that offers good content to your followers.  Build your list on these three sites and you will have social proofed yourself.

How does that increase blog traffic?  Using social media to drive traffic to your site is a little bit of an indirect method but is still an important piece of the puzzle that should not be ignored.  All of these sites have a profile section where you can put links to your site.  If you build relationships and one of your friends checks out your profile they might just end up clicking on your link.  Remember to focus on building relationships.  Best of all these sites are all free and for those of you on a tight budget, focusing your efforts here is a no brainer.

We live in a society of immediate gratification. Everyone wants to take the fast and easy route. Our attention span is measured in seconds. Life is packed with one thing after another. Cell phones, texting, and the internet have trained us to get everything we want and need immediately. You may have heard that the best things in life are worth waiting for.

There is no better example of this then in my own field of expertise, the fitness industry. Unfortunately there is no magic pill yet that can give you all the benefits that a real work out can. People come to me all the time wanting to lose weight, gain muscle, and get back in shape. Over the past 20 years I have had the opportunity to analyze 100’s of individuals in the gym. I have seen many succeed, some break even, and some fail miserably. We all know that proper nutrition and exercise will get us the results we are looking for. So why do so many people fail?

Let me give you an example to help answer the question. I have a client that works out with me 5 days a week(Client #1). Her weight loss has been slow but consistent over the years and currently she is pretty close to her optimal weight and body composition. My client has a friend (Client # 2) who often asks if she can work out with us. She comes in and tells us she is on a new chocolate cookie diet and she has already lost 15lbs and has 15 more to go. She works out with us for about 30 days and then disappears. Six months later client #1 runs into client # 2 at a party. Client #2 has now gained back all of the weight she had lost plus 5lbs. Now hear is the priceless comment she makes. She asks client #1 what are you doing to look so good? Her answer is simply “I’m doing the same thing I have been doing for 8 years. I work out with Mike everyday.” People fail in fitness because they are not consistent.

You see there is no easy way out when it comes to getting in shape. There is no shortcut when it comes to losing weight and gaining muscle. There is no magic bullet or special machine in the gym that can do the work for you. There is just one common theme that I see with all of my successful clients and that is CONSISTENCY!

The very same principle applies to owning your own business. Whether you are an online marketer, affiliate marketer, network marketer, or own a traditional business, you must come to terms with the fact that there is no easy road to success. No magic pill that will give you instant success. The magic is in your mindset. Your inner motivation that will give you the drive to wake up everyday and move forward and make progress. The ability to stay the course even when things aren’t looking so good. The magic formula for success is something we all have inside of us. The magic formula for success is to simply be CONSISTENT.

The recent popularity of social sites like Facebook and Twitter have prompted some really annoying behavior by the uneducated MLM newbie.  These online marketers are using these relationship based sites to relentlessly pitch their business opportunity to all of their so called friends on a daily basis in a desperate one line fashion.  What happened to PROVIDING VALUE?

It appears that network marketers need to learn some online manners and learn the difference between direct response marketing and social media.

Direct response marketing is where we used to spend most of our time building our business.  We offered a solution to a problem that other people were looking for.  If I need it I will buy it and become a customer or a distributor.  PPC advertising on google is a nice example.

Social media is exactly what it sounds like.  It’s a place to socialize and build relationships.  Connect with old and new friends.  They aren’t looking for solutions to any problems or to join your network marketing business.

Social networking is like going to a bar for small talk and to meet new people.  Your blog is like taking someone from the bar back to your house to really develop the relationship and show them who you are and what you are all about.  From here if the relationship moves in the right direction then it might be ok to invite them to your business opportunity site.

Network marketers are crashing the party by using direct response marketing on social media sites.

So what’s the answer to keeping the social party alive and building your business?

You need your own blog site to provide valuable content that will appeal to your target market.  Provide value to others who are looking for it.  Your blog is like your home office.  Facebook and twitter are not.  Your blog should be your central hub of communication where people can find out what you are all about.

So here is what it looks like.  Instead of posting links on your social sites straight to your business opportunity, put a link to your blog.  Let your blog (your central hub) build an even deeper relationship with your online friend and if relationship flourishes your blog can point them to your network marketing business site and greatly increase your chances of finding a new business partner.
